Peace is paved
With kingdom saved
Hurrah to Rambo
Our only hero

If you know your classics, you'll recognise Super Mario Bros. 2 (Japan) ending with the Kaiser touch. That one has been dumped for a -long- time and you'd think that, by now, all the different SMB2j port would have been properly dumped and documented?

*Nervous laugh*

Super Mario Bros. 2
We've got a whopping three Super Mario Bros. 2 ports.

• The first was found on a LF36 cartridge bearing no other text beside the Whirlwind Manu ID. It seems to be the original Mapper 40 port. It was later hacked to feature an advanced level select cheat. NTDEC seems to be responsible for it, there's a chip bearing their name on the PCB.

• The second and third originate from these huge Famicom cartridges that used to be circulating in the late 80s solely in Taiwan. These huge cases were made to shelter oversized PCBs.
Why am I listing them together? Both were found with a PCB bearing YUNG-08 and like us, you would have thought the data was identical? One had a protection check patched out for obscure reasons while still having the necessary hardware to comply with.

Super Mario Party

Some months ago, the Super Mario Family cartridge was dumped, but its parent version wasn't! Before you give up and smash all the buttons on the selection screen, you can move the cursor with select. Oh, and don't press start for too long if you want to play the original Mario Bros..

Golden Mario Party II 6-in-1

Another Mario compilation with 6 games made by an unknown company. From Super Mario Bros. 2 (USA) to Super Bros. 7 with MC Mario as the closing title.
Rumor says something will happen if you press B,B,A,A in order on the 6-in-1 menu.

1991 賭馬 Racing (TXC) (MGC-009)

Micro Genius release of that one Super Mega title. Copyright untouched but they did fix an audio bug. They knew their priorities!

Ultimate Stuntman

Now we've got something very obscure. It's a single release of Ultimate Stuntman which is byte-to-byte identical on the version found on the Pegasus 5-in-1 released by BIC. Yet that one cartridge bears no mention of BIC nor Realtec and the PCB is generic.
Who made this? How did they get ahold of that version?

Sextuplet ROMs
Friday, March 29, 2019, 15:17 - Dumps, 2019
Posted by MLX
Here's another varied sample which showcase what the publishers had to offer between 10 to 27 years ago. Some are new dumps, some are proper redumps.

Mali Lugi Fighting 2

Ah yes, another tragic hack by the same publisher that brought The Ancient & Modern Heroes to this world. The current dump was put together by combining the CHR data with the untouched PRG of Chip and Dale 2. As we do care, here's the original untouched ROM from the original cartridge.

1000-in-1

An NTDEC multicart from 1992, before NTDEC "went legit" by changing their name to Asder. The monkey at the title screen is probably Sun Wukong from Journey to the West novel.
Being the first mapper 221 game to use 2 MiB, most emulators do not implement the necessary additional bank bit.

Super Soccer Champion (Exciting Soccer: Konami Cup)

Another undumped FDS ports finally available as a ROM. For this one, they took the time (and liberty) to modify the title screen and rename the game. The cartridge was given an extremly generic cover as well, literally using Nintendo's Soccer art. It likely went unnoticed all those years because of those various changes and choices. There's another port of Exciting Soccer, likely by Whirlwind Manu or Kaiser which is undumped. Soccer Champion was also featured on a few J.Y. multicarts from 1997 and later.

1997 Super HiK 4-in-1 (JY-054)

The 1997 instance of JY-054 replaces Aladdin III and Popeye 2 with Donkey Kong Country 4 and The Jungle Book 2. The two other titles, Master Fighter II and Mighty Final Fight were kept… oh, and the menu design was replaced as it used some graphics from Aladdin.

1996 Super HiK 3-in-1 (JY-080)

This is the only J.Y. multicart that contains a title developed by Ei-How Yang and his team. It's not even the original version of that said game but rather the graphic hack, in a Tiny Toon themed multicart. The 1997 instance JY-080 lacks China Rabbit Baby and replace it with some other Tiny Toon game. One can only wonder what happened between Jing Tay and them.

Nuevo Tipo de Computadora

Yet another educational computer cartridge from GameStar, this time in Spanish. You need to connect the Subor keyboard to use this multicart
at all. This cartridge has been dumped before, but the only publicly-available ROM image was mapper-hacked for Mapper 241. Here is now the original unmodified ROM image, for mapper 178.

Iconic heroes

If you think, rightly, that World Heroes 2 by Cony Soft was the most ambitious crossover in history, you might want to add 古今英雄伝 - The Ancient & Modern Heros (sic) as a contender for the second place. Not only it features a diversified character selection, they're mixed with the good old Street Fighter II characters.

It appears to have been released in the last third of 1993. It seems to be based of Fighter V which already has obscure origins as it bears no copyrights. That game already had one of the portrait replaced (Ryu portrait was replaced with Goku), yet the replaced portrait in that one does not match Goku portrait in The Ancient and Modern Heroes. Some of the portraits were ripped from ファミコンジャンプ 英雄列伝 (Famicom Jump: Hero Retsuden).

As for the fighters… whoever were in charge of this mess definitely played an exciting game of exquisite corpses.
Head - Body
Mario - Balrog (M. Bison)
Goku - Ryu
Sangokushi character #1 - E. Honda
Bart Simpson - Blanka
Ryo Saeba (City Hunter) - Guile
Sangokushi character #2 - Vega (Balrog)
Kenshiro (Fist of the North Star) - Ken
Cammy - Chun-Li
Wario - Zangief
Isamu (Kōya no Shōnen Isamu) - Dhalsim

Ryo Saeba and Isamu are the only two characters whose portrait do not appear on the front cover. It features rather Terminator (for Isamu) and seemingly another Sangokushi characters rather. See for yourself.

NTDEC Arnold is here

This is one of those multicart that a lot of people remember but lost the original cartridge over time. It was made in 1991 by NTDEC and feature our friend Arnold with a nice rendition of the main theme of the 1987 Hong Kong movie Chinese Ghost Story. This cartridge is also known as Golden 250 as the cover calls it.
There are some other compilations, such as a 255-in-1 with the same menu but lacking the NTDEC copyright, those were made at a later time by an unknown company.

Powerful 250 in 1

Nanjing, JY, Sachen and Nantong presents
Sunday, December 23, 2018, 11:30 - Dumps

UPDATED 27th January 2019
The previous dump of Final Fantasy proved to be bad and so was replaced with a good dump. It was moved with Chongwu Baobao to mapper 268 because the SRAM could be corrupted by some mapper-specific writes. Mapper 4 ROMs of those two were added in the archive as well.
---

Running to the christmas tree to tear up the paper used to pack your presents. What do you find inside? Fifteen sweet ROMs for your beloved console and from your all time favorite publishers! You feel that this year Santa finally heard you, right?
Well, he might not have but we did.

75 Bingo (SA-007)

An early Sachen game, this version with an English title screen was already available as an UNIF-format ROM image claiming to use a "NES-CNROM" board, having been released by Sanchez and dumped by "Mad Dumper". It turns out that "Mad Dumper" also mapper-hacked the ROM image without telling anybody. This is the unaltered ROM image, using iNES Mapper 79 used by Sachen and American Video Entertainment alike. Interestingly, the game also has compatibility code for Color Dreams' iNES Mapper 11. Does that mean that Color Dreams/Bunch Games were offered or planned to release this game? Nobody knows.

剑侠情缘 (Jiànxiá qíngyuán)

This is a previously-undumped re-release (or, more likely, pirated version) by 南通 (Shenzen Nántōng) of Waixing's Chinese translation of Square's Final Fantasy 1.

宠物宝宝 (Chǒngwù Bǎobǎo, lit. Pet Baby, NJ031)

As the Bootleg Games Wiki states, "a virtual pet game where you must raise one of three puppies, likely released amidst the Nintendogs craze". Developed by Nice Code Software, published by Shenzhen Nanjing, its Chinese version had not been dumped before and has full save/restore functionality. The English version is available on the PowerJoy SuperMax 30-in-1 as Pet Dog, but with the save/restore functionality disabled.

Smart Genius (a.k.a. Little Master/Sprytny Geniusz)

Yet another one among the seemingly-endless number of famiclone-based educational computer cartridges, this time published by Belsonic and supporting one type of the Subor mouse. This ROM was taken from a cartridge that was sold in Poland with the name Sprytny Geniusz on the packaging; the cartridge label calls it Little Master, while the in-game title is Smart Genius.

齐天大圣 (Qítiān dàshèng, NJ082)

Another RPG from Shenzhen Nanjing, released on June 1st, 2008 according to the records of the Chinese copyright office (registration number 2008SR18758). Previously available only as a mapper hack for iNES Mapper 241, this redump provides the unaltered version for iNES Mapper 178.

1994 Super HiK 4-in-1 (JY-005)

The very first J.Y. multicart in the line to feature a game selection screen. Also, are those Pokeballs?

1994 Super HiK 3-in-1 (JY-007)

An unique selection of games, two of them were released the same year as this cartridge. It seems to have been an interesting approach by J.Y. to differentiate their activities from all the other that just copied the previously released cartridges that just contained that same selection of NROM games.

1994 Ball 4-in-1 Series (JY-009)

Another Sport themed multicart from J.Y. Company.

1995 Super HiK 4-in-1 (JY-018)

The first J.Y. multicart to use that menu layout. As usual, some common games and some uniques ones. Have you ever seen Ren and Stimpy or that strange Monster in My Pocket hack featuring Batman on another multicart? I certainly haven't seen (m)any.

1995 Super HiK 4-in-1 (JY-019)

A direct follow-up to the previous entry. Three games have been replaced with three others. Mickey's Safari in Letterland makes an appearance.

1997 Super HiK 8-in-1 (JY-097)

By 1997, J.Y. hadn't yet changed their habits. Here's a multicart featuring Zelda (without the possibility to save your progress, Bomberman II and Super Mario Bros. 2 (the original one - albeit uncomplete, it will crash upon completing 4-4).
It's unique but kind of disappointing when you know SMB2j is broken and you need to beat Zelda in one go.

1998 Super HiK 6-in-1 (JY-117)

We're nearing the end of the J.Y. line at this point. Here's the second and last multicart featuring Tiny Toon Adventures 6. This multicart theme seems to be games based on cartoons and super heroes. Oddly, a Cony game ended up on it.

1998 Super 3-in-1 (JY-118)

Possibly one of the multicart that offers the most limited choice in terms of variety. It's just three time Street Fighter III with different title and characters selection screens. Great. Seems like J.Y. recycled some Tekken 2 PCBs to make it. Yet it's such a weird choice.

Super HIK 8-in-1 (CK-124)

Two Datach games, the original Rockman (and not Rockman 3 or 5), that uncomplete SMB2j port and some other games. The broken sound in the Konami games is due because they don't properly reset the APU and J.Y. overlooked that. Booh.

方塊專集 HiK Block 14-in-1 (SC-126)

A puzzle themed multicart. There's enough variety on there to please anyone. But at the same time it's just puzzle games. So some will get bored quickly. 3D Block and Chinese Chess are the two originals on there. Both with copyrights removed (while SC-128 kept it on Chinese Chess).

Super Photo-Gun 13-in-1 (SC-130)

The penultimate J.Y. cartridge in the original line. This time it's a light-gun games selection with Lethal Weapon! It appears to have been released at the begining of 2000.

Super 魂斗羅 Super Contra

With a modified copyright reading © 1990 Yellow. Also they placed a nonsensical "DS" on the titlescreen.
