Here's one more dump which I was supposed to include in the previous wave. It's a 5-in-1 (and alternatively a 20-in-1) made by the same developer(s) as Super Fighter III. It contains their four lightgun titles with the addition of Elfland. This cartridge predates the more known one featuring those lightgun games and so seems to be the first release of those games.

5-in-1 1993 Copyright

The two menus can be selected with DIP switches. The 20-in-1 menu adds repeats

The current version of NintendulatorNRS will run this ROM. Refer to this post to obtain it.

Here's a small new batch for this first part of April.

Earthworm Jim 2 (Super Game)

An alternate dump. There are some differences in both the PRG and CHR.

Go! Benny! (Mega Soft)

This is the version found on the single cartridge release of Go! Benny!. Copyrighted to Mega Soft rather than ASDER or NTDEC.
This cartridge was kindly provided by joanna88 to krzysiobal for archival. Thanks to both of them!

Ping Pong

Again but this time it's properly ripped with the sound samples. It will run on both EmuVT and NintendulatorNRS. This game requires some of the VT features, hence why it's presented in the .bin format.

1997 Super HIK 18-in-1 (JY-101)

Yet another J.Y. multicart with the ID in the hundreads. They are quite rare so it's good to cross them off the undumped list. This cartridge has 4 different menus, which can be selected with DIP switches. They each correspond to the consecutives IDs: JY-102, JY-103, JY-104.

Multicarts prelude

Four new dumps today, three J.Y. multicarts and one TXC Micro Genius multicart.
Some J.Y. X-in-1 were poorly manufactured and produced in low quantities, so it's worth trying to preserve them.

1996 Soccer 7-in-1 (JY-014B)

An updated version of 1995 Soccer 6-in-1 (JY-014) which adds a seven entry to the list. A repeat on top of that. Two revisions exist, one retains a Tecmo copyright while the later removes it. They can be differantiated from the cover. The early one having a gold border and the later lacking it.

1997 Super HIK 4-in-1 (JY-099)

A nice 4-in-1 featuring games rarely seen on multicarts. Beware of the typos on the selection screen.

1997 Super 9-in-1 (JY-109)

Another updated version of one of their older multicart known as 1994 Super 8-in-1. The added entry being again a repeat.

2-in-1 Uzi Lightgun

This cartridge was apparently often bundled with the Micro Genius lightguns. It was eventually replaced by Strike Wolf as it wasn't infriging copyrights.
To use the Bandai Hyper Shot for Space Shadow, one has to setup a third controller in the Nintendulator Input menu then needs to use that third controller's Select and Start. Up to walk ahead and B to throw a grenade. This cartridge was dumped by CaH4e3.

Dumps and Redumps! Mapper hacks begone!

January was a busy month. It can be summarized with the classic sentence The more you dig the more you find, pretty much. That's quite vague I know. But you may understand if you keep reading.

So here we have eleven new dumps, presented in alphabetical order.

1997 Super HIK 4-in-1 (JY-095)

1997 Super HIK 4-in-1 (JY-096)

Here are two J.Y. Company multicarts which feature licensed games. They use yet another derivate of the J.Y. ASIC and so have been assigned to mapper 295 (NES2.0).

AV Big Chance

A Taiwanese release of a game known as AV Pachislot (Hacker International, Japan) and Hot Slot (Panesian, U.S.). The data is vastly different from the Hacker release and so suggests that this was recompiled from the original source code rather than hacked from the Hacker release. There's a chance this actually come from Idea-Tek or C&E as the overall PCB design matches. And lastly the capital I in the copyright back this theory as well.

블랙 드래곤 (Black Dragon)

Haitai release of the Color Dreams' Challenge of the Dragon. Like the others: licensed and manufactured by Daou, published by Haitai under the Supercom brand.

少林武者 (Chinese Kungfu)

The previous dump sometime selects the wrong CHR banks during gameplay. Some banks are also duplicated. So here is a good dump of Joy Van's last game. The self-running demo will not work properly on emulators that initialise the RAM to FFh.

Colorful Dragon

Original release of Colorful Dragon on mapper 79. The known dump was likely hacked to CNROM, as it does not support bus conflicts.

盜帥 (Daoshuai - Master Chu and the Drunkard Hu)

The common dump is a mapper 3 hack. So here we have the original version of the game.

Elfland

A single cartridge release of Elfland with the Tiptop logo removed and the copyright updated from 1992 to 1993. Was the 1992 release only seen on a multicart…?

Mike Tyson's Punch Out!!

A redump of the J.Y. mapper hack of Mike Tyson's Punch Out. The previous dump have issues with Von Kaiser graphics.

戰國四川省 (Zhan Guo Si Chuan Sheng - Tiles of Fate)

The common dump was likely modified to work on mapper 132 which is a close but not accurate match of what the game needs to work. Here's the original version which operate on mapper 173. Also included is the C&E release which operate on CNROM.

Idea-Tek'mas

UPDATED 2018/6/12

A few weeks ago, someone requested some help to dump an AVE release of F-15 Citywar on nesdev forums. NewRisingSun replied and pointed out that the original Idea-Tek release was likely undumped. This was especially surprising and I offered to dump my cartridge. We eventually found out that all Idea-Tek releases were either undumped, wrongly emulated or hacked. NewRisingSun and I proceeded to dump and check all the Idea-Tek cartridges I had in my hands. That process brings us to today, with the dumps of the original releases of a good chunk of the Idea-Tek catalog.

小瑪琍 (Xiǎo Mǎlí) - Nei-Hu and TXC MGC-005 releases

These redumps include the full 32 KiB of CHR-ROM, which is not an overdump, but part of a copy-protection scheme. The previous dumps (headerless CRC32 9C3A26CB for the original Nei-Hu, 3FDC2FBE for the Idea-Tek release without copyrights) strip the CHR-ROM to 8 KiB and so hide a part of the copy-protection scheme.
The original 内湖 (Nei-Hu) (headerless CRC32 9C3A26CB) and Idea-Tek releases (headerless CRC32 0x974B0552) are copy-protected. The copy protection involves checking that a mapper register returns the correct value, with the games blackening the screen if it does not. The copy-protection must be emulated as part of Mapper 173. The C&E and TXC (MGC-005, cartridge label "Bingo") re-releases have no copy-protection. The Nei-Hu, Idea-Tek and TXC releases furthermore always set the color-emphasis bits, permanently darkening the screen; the C&E version does not do that.

All versions of the game have 8 KiB of PRG-ROM and 8 KiB of CHR-ROM. Because the .NES format only supports 16 KiB PRG-ROM banks, it's unavoidable that the PRG part of the ROM must be repeated once, or "overdumped". Furthermore, because the Nei-Hu and Idea-Tek releases use UVEPROMS with a nonstandard pinout, the previously-posted versions of their ROMs had overdumped 32 KiB of CHR which had been thought of being a part of the copy-protection.

F-15 City War:

Here is the so-far undumped original Idea-Tek release. Only Gluk Video's release (headerless CRC32 2FBEA66D) and AVE's two releases (headerless CRC32 88A6B192 for rev0, F3841DCD for rev1) had been dumped so far.

撲克精靈 (Poker Jīnglíng):

The previous dumps (headerless CRC32 8F154A0D for the correct dump with 16 KiB PRG, B39F7D56/B9FD16E1 for the overdumps with 32 KiB PRG) are not mapper hacks as previously thought, even as they ran under mapper 3. It turns out that the unmodified ROM can run under Mapper 3, but only if the emulator does not emulate bus conflicts (which FCEUX does), and would not run on a stock Nintendo CNROM board for the same reason. The redumped ROM has been set to Mapper 173 to reflect what the hardware on the cart actually is like.

Puzzle:

The existing dump in NoIntro named "Puzzle (USA) (Beta) (Unl).zip" (headerless CRC32 2FA8CBB4) is not actually a Beta of the American release; it's rather a Mapper 3 hack of our new unhacked dump of the original Idea-Tek release of the game. The Idea-Tek release differs from the American Video Entertainment release (headerless CRC32 EA19080A) in having different music in-game, no music at the title screen, and some different puzzle images. It mostly matches the Gluk Video release (headerless CRC32 7984AE6D), except that the Gluk Video release prints "Idea Tek Corp." on the title screen which the actual Idea-Tek release does not, and the Idea-Tek release does not allow accessing levels above 2-3 using the level selector, while the Gluk video release goes up to 2-5. The 2-4 and 2-5 images are still there in the Idea-Tek release; but presumably you have to complete level 2-3 first to access them.

麻将方块 (Mahjong Block):

The existing dump (headerless CRC32 0ACFC3CD) seems to be a TXC re-release of the game and does not run under the more accurate emulation of Mapper 173; instead, it must be set to Mapper 136 (uploaded here for convenience). This redump is from the original Super Mega release of the game and runs under the Super Mega mapper 172. Note that if you press START while the main game screen is fading in, the pause screen becomes glitched; this bug occurs with the original cartridge on real hardware as well.
